Experience:

Marcelle leads the firm’s litigation team and has more than 40 years’ experience as a litigation Attorney-at-Law with particular emphasis on Commercial Litigation, including Banking, Public Law, Medical Negligence and Arbitrations. She regularly instructs both foreign and local Counsel in the High Court, Court of Appeal, Judicial Committee of the Privy Council, Industrial Court, Tax Appeal Board and arbitrations. She has appeared as Instructing Attorney with English and local Counsel in an International Chamber of Commerce arbitration before an international panel of arbitrators at the International Arbitration Centre in the UK. She also practices Family Law and has undergone training in family mediation to enhance her skills in resolving family disputes in a non-adversarial atmosphere.

Marcelle has presented to the firm’s corporate clients on the Civil Proceedings Rules and the litigation process. She was one of the Law Association’s representatives on the New Rules Monitoring Committee, which was established to monitor the operational efficiency of new Civil Proceedings Rules when they came into effect in 2006. She has served as Chairman and member of the Adoption Board of Trinidad and Tobago, a statutory authority charged with responsibility for regulating and facilitating the adoption of children in Trinidad and Tobago.

She has served two terms as Vice-Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee of the Law Association of Trinidad and Tobago and remains a member.

Marcelle has a working knowledge of Spanish and is a member of the Law Association of Trinidad and Tobago.
