Experience:

Dennis practised as a Solicitor in England following his admission to practice in 1976. He joined the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group in September 1977. In 1997, Dennis transferred to the firm’s corporate and commercial team. His breadth of experience, therefore, spans both litigation and corporate and commercial law.

Dennis advises on a wide range of matters, including acquisitions, joint ventures, company incorporation, corporate governance, banking, commercial litigation, estate planning and administration, pension schemes and Dispute Resolution.

Apart from his practice as an attorney-at-law, Dennis has served as Secretary, Treasurer and Vice-President of the Law Association of Trinidad and Tobago and as a director of several companies including Guardian Media Limited, President’s Award Foundation, Dispute Resolution Centre, Dialogue Solutions Limited and First Caribbean International Bank (Trinidad and Tobago) Limited.

Dennis became a Certified Mediator in Trinidad and Tobago in 2006 and has completed the professional designation of Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Mediators. He has mediated several commercial disputes, chaired an arbitral tribunal appointed under the ICC Rules; he has been appointed a member of an arbitral tribunal in an international arbitration and has acted as sole arbitrator in many arbitrations. Dennis has acted for both Claimants and Respondents in many international and domestic arbitration proceedings in the Caribbean and North America.
In December 2011, Dennis was awarded the status of Senior Counsel.
He retired from the partnership onDecember 31, 2021 and is currently a Consultant with the firm.

Dennis is a member of the Law Association of Trinidad and Tobago, The Law Society of England and Wales, The International Bar Association, The Commonwealth Lawyers Association and OCCBA (The Organization of Commonwealth Caribbean Bar Associations).
